ABLV Bank (Latvia)

The bank was founded on 17 September 1993 on the basis of the Bank of Latvia regional branch in the city of Aizkraukle, thus the bank was named "Aizkraukles Banka". In 1995, there were changes made to the bank’s shareholding structure: Ernests Bernis and Oļegs Fiļs, became the bank’s shareholders and executives, and have been working solely in this field since then. Also in 1995, the bank started expanding its activities and founded a branch in Riga. In the following years, the bank actively worked in the field of providing services to foreign customers, offering them various bank products, mainly related to making payments, and became a notable player in the financial market. The bank was one of the first in Latvia to start development of different remote service channels, thus improving service level and ensuring rapid growth. In 2002, AB.LV trademark was created. In 2004, the bank focused on developing second line of its primary activities – investment management.

The following documents have to be enclosed with your application:
  • Identification (preferably a passport), which bears the customer’s picture and signature. If the customer is not in Belize, the copy of the identification must be notarized.
  • Confirmation of Address (Utility Bill) Street and country address of the parties to the account is required.
All documents should be in the English Language. You can have the copies notarized with a notary or advocate or you can go to a consulate to legalize your documents by the public administration of your country.

  •  Copy of Certificate of Incorporation
  •  Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association.
  •  Copy of Share Certificate(s)
  •  Resolution Appointing the Directors of the Company
  •  Resolution of Directors Form. (A part of the set of application forms)

First you have to know the banks website: https://www.ablv.com/en/ How to open the account: Please enter your personal data and follow the instructions from the bank here: https://www.ablv.com/en/start-relationship There's an "Fill out the form" link you have to follow. You will be taken to the account opening process and asked to enter your personal data. So the bank will send you the necessary application forms. After you returned the forms with all necessary documents back to the bank, your account is set up after further 5-7 working days and you will get the access data by post delivered. Your new Offshore bank account is from then on fully usable. Important notes: If the account opening documents provided are incomplete, unverified or are not clear they may have to request further information, documents or clarification from you before they can open your account.
